The tank decides how a mod tastes. This category holds sub-ohm tanks with ready-made replaceable coils, such as the GeekVape Z series, Vaporesso iTank 2 and iTank T, FreeMax Fireluke and M Pro, SMOK T-Air and Horizon Falcon, plus rebuildable atomizers for vapers who wrap their own coils: the Damn Vape Doom X Mesh RTA and the Mongrel and Nitrous RDAs.
How to choose a tank
- Replaceable coil or rebuildable. Coil-head tanks are swap-and-go; RTAs and RDAs need wire, cotton and some practice, and reward it with control and low running cost.
- Diameter. Most mods accept tanks up to about 25–26 mm; check the mod's maximum before buying a wide tank.
- Capacity. Sub-ohm tanks run from about 2 mL to 6 mL; larger glass needs fewer refills.
- Coil availability. Before you choose a tank, make sure its coil family is stocked. Coil packs are in accessories.
Need a mod to run it? See kits and mods, and fill with freebase e-liquid.
Tank questions
What is the difference between an RTA and an RDA?
An RTA has a tank that holds e-liquid around a rebuildable deck; an RDA has no tank, and you drip liquid onto the coils directly.
What does sub-ohm mean?
The coil's resistance is below 1.0 ohm, which lets it run at higher wattage for more vapor and needs high-VG freebase.
Why does my new tank leak?
Usually an unprimed coil, a loose seal or liquid too thin for the coil. Prime new coils and use high-VG liquid.
